The usually fairly reliable MacRumors site is saying that Wal-Mart is about to start selling all iPad models as well as accessories. Add that to an earlier announcement that Target launched sales of the iPad in 1,700 stores across the US this weekend, and I think two things are obvious:
This is good for Apple, and probably good for everyone selling ebooks. Apple is primarily a hardware vendor. The fact that the iBooks store is pretty weak when compared with Amazon or Kobo is not very important, because iPad users can easily install Amazon and/or Kobo apps and buy ebooks from those vendors (as I do). |
